Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP with the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain fame. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and from Sweat It Out, on July 21 in 2015. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work together with Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna was hired by Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she sang together with Cozz in the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP, on October 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance for J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it was released on September 5th. In November, she dropped two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013 she released No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later released the song as a solo single on her debut album. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within the first time, it was viewed more than 3 million views. In December 2018 she performed on her From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
