Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay thai fighter, mixed martial arts artist, and fights with the UFC flyweight division. Shevchenko is the elder sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champion as well as co- UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career began with her debut as a Muay Thai competitor. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller on a unanimous vote. She managed to take home the second-round TKO fight and her subsequent two games at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. The result was her having a record of 3-0. Shevchenko went on a hiatus from MMA to focus on her kickboxing and returned to the ring against Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa via unanimous decision and later defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she resigned from the league and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's prodigious strike abilities enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the back of her. Antonina's UFC contract was renewed following the win. Antonina made her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko fell to Roxanne modafferi by split decision, after winning her first bout. Antonina came back from losing by defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. It earned her the bonus of a fight-of-the night. Shevchenko was 1-2 over her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski, however she lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee.
